When I post popsicle recipes here, I usually don’t say stuff like, “This recipe will yield 4 ice pops.”
Because ice pop molds vary in size quite a bit.
Each mold in my kitchen holds a various amount of ounces. Since I don’t know which ice pop mold you own, I can’t honestly tell you how many ice pops a specific recipe will make, so instead I post how many ounces of mix a recipe will make. Well, I do post ounces if I remember to measure. Sometimes I just throw popsicle mix together, pour them into molds and call it a day.
The above said, I’ve measured quite a few popsicle molds in my day (yes, that’s my idea of fun) and have created a little list that may help you out. This chart is only useful if you own the same molds as I do. If you have different molds, simply use a measuring cup to slowly pour water into your mold and you can find out how many ounces your molds hold.
Some typical popsicle mold styles and their sizes:
NOTE: Ounces a mold holds means ONE popsicle mold, not how many ounces the entire set of molds holds.
